The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions on the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering providers like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency explained it's alarmed in regards to the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention of status sassa the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie status sassa and there is no completely functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The support place established for intervention experiences a high influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it hard to the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional methods to empower the servicing of all shoppers and raise use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
